The 4th AI EXPO Taiwan 2025 was orchestrated by DIGITIMES, in collaboration with co-hosts
such as the Artificial Intelligence Technology Foundation, IC Broadcasting, the Taipei Expo
Foundation, and Trend Micro. The event was jointly organized by Administration for Digital
Industries MODA, GOOD Inc., the Eden Social Welfare Foundation, the AI on Chip Taiwan
Alliance, and the New Taipei City Government Youth Department. The event concluded
successfully on March 28.
This event brought together 250 domestic firms and brands, as well as joint endorsements
from 73 community partners and KOL content creators. Additionally, it received promotional
assistance from 60 colleges, universities, and artificial intelligence research centers. A
new record was established by approximately 26,000 registered participants. AI EXPO Taiwan
is the premier ecosystem exchange platform for Taiwan's AI industry, functioning as a
flagship annual event that fosters cross-domain integration, cultivates scientific and
technological talent, and promotes industrial innovation.
Government promotes cross-domain collaboration and industry-academia partnerships to
boost Taiwan's innovation and technology
Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim attended the event in person, accompanied by Colley Hwang,
chairman of the organizing bodies DIGITIMES and IC Radio Broadcasting. They visited exhibits
representing AWS, Silicon Motion Technology, Phison Electronics, Trend Micro, Qualcomm,
NEXCOM International, and Dynabook Technology, underscoring the government's substantial
commitment to the development of Taiwan's AI industry.
Taiwan will not obtain effortless fortune; wealth and prosperity are
acquired through risk.
Taiwan must enhance domestic demand-driven sectors, improve overall
competitiveness, capitalize on its geographical and industrial strengths,
and continue innovation and strategic development in response to AI
advancements and geopolitical challenges, thereby ensuring a strong position
within the global supply chain in the AI era.
Colley Hwang, President of DIGITIMES and IC Radio Broadcasting
Taiwan is at key AI growth point with both opportunities and challenges.
The Ministry will continue to promote industrial innovation and
transformation, working with all sectors to develop Taiwan's AI ecosystem,
allowing AI technology to provide innovative applications across industries,
enhance Taiwan's industrial progress, and strengthen its international
competitiveness.
J. W. Kuo, Minister of Economic Affairs, Republic of China (Taiwan)
Taiwan's AI innovation and development emerge from private sector
competition, but the government is involved.
The government will act as a facilitator, providing free AI computing
resources, improving the transparency of interdepartmental communication,
and organizing matchmaking events to assist emerging companies in obtaining
contracts, establishing private innovation as the primary driver of the
ecosystem.
Yi-Jing Lin, Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs, Republic of China (Taiwan)
Enhancing Taiwan's competitiveness requires the empowerment of all
individuals to proficiently utilize AI tools.
AI technology has transitioned from specialized areas to widespread public
use, necessitating that corporations and governments exhibit greater
audacity in prototype validation and innovative execution, while effectively
leveraging Taiwan's strengths in software and hardware integration. A
comprehensive understanding of AI is crucial for creating a socially
resilient foundation that ensures global competitiveness.
Andrew Ng, Founder of DeepLearning.AI
We must possess the capabilities to employ AI in combating AI.
Seventy percent of cybersecurity issues are attributed to unidentified or
unregulated digital assets. In the age of AI, cybersecurity awareness
requires a comprehensive analysis of data, models, agents, applications, and
edge AI. The cybersecurity industry will increasingly employ AI to combat
AI.
Bob Hung, General Manager for Trend Micro Taiwan and Hong Kong
The more problems you can address, the larger your market will become.
Data is the modern-day equivalent of energy. We should prioritize the
identification of our own oil and gas reserves (critical data) over the
rapid procurement of shovels (chips, processing power). We promote the
adoption of innovative AI technologies and the migration of Taiwanese
businesses and start-ups to cloud computing, considering both local
requirements and global perspectives.
Robert Wang, Managing Director of Amazon Web Services for Taiwan and Hong
Kong
AI has evolved from cloud computing to edge computing and from industrial
applications to a more expansive ecosystem; the most exciting phase has yet
to begin.
AI will profoundly transform data input and output processing, as well as
the automation of task execution. In the future, there will be not just
human-machine collaboration but also competition among diverse AI agents.
The data input source will be augmented by including diverse devices and
datasets.
Sean Pien, Microsoft Taiwan General Manager
2025 marks the first year of sustainable AI.
Taiwan's generative AI ought to implement a federated AI strategy focused on
"local data, local training, and local deployment." Localization, internal
deployment, and autonomous models are expected to provide a new alternative
for enterprises.
